Bottle from Japan. A few months old. A big almost gushing beige head. A huge foamy pours, dark black. A sour fruit nose. Slightly tart, ashy, chocolate, thin palate. OK. The tartness is off putting and unintentional.

Fire Valley - Valentine’s Porter 5% Served in a snifter, it poured out a reddish brown before settling into an inky black in the glass with a fizzy beige head that faded into a thin film. The aroma is pretty good: rich chocolate, hints of fruit and a few notes of smoke. The body is very thin and the carbonation is raspy and round. The taste isn’t bad but is quite different from your typical Japanese Valentine’s Chocolate beer. It gives a hard to pin down slightly tart fruity vanilla roasty chocolate and mild brett (?) metallic notes. I’m not sure if this was intentional but it sure is interesting and unique.
