Tap at Gremlin. Good stuff. Somewhere between sono 10 and house, citrus, orange, minerals. Spiky maltiness. Might have been a mistake but I really like it. Nice bitterness, some candy elements. Very enjoyable. Possible first drink extra enjoyment, but I tried it again and still liked it a lot.

Take out draft from Craft Heads. Narrow escape ipa 10.2 7.5% on tap at Craft Heads. Clear brassy gold with a solid citrus hop aroma. Medium bodied with a dry finish. The taste is solid hoppiness of the citrusy persuasion. Good but not as transcendent as the tenth anniversary ipa.

Deep golden color. Frothy white head. Nice resiny hoppy nose with some citrus and pine notes. Stonefruit in the mouth. Nice nose but kinda simple palate. Bitter finish. A bit simple but dry clean and nice.

Bottle. Stinky, funky dank fruity nose. Deep gold with a low head. Sweet and dank, funky citrus hops going on, stone fruits too. Not overly sweet but still thick and heavy. Ok. Not one of their best.

Re-rate: Tap at Gremlin. Passion fruit, mango, grapefruit zest and sudachi on the nose with some orange marmalade. Bitterness is way softer on tap. Much more well-balanced, with a bitter finish, but enjoyable. This is a clear example of the bottle nowhere near the tap. Wow...night and day. Bottle from Tanakaya. Pours a clear light orange with a one-finger head of foam that dissipates but lingers throughout. Aromas of honey, passion fruit, mango, grapefruit and pine resin. Fairly bitter on the palate with some citrus, grass and sticks. Scratchy and slightly harsh bitter finish that lingers. Not as good at Sono Juu, but still OK for a narrow escape I guess. --- Beer merged from original tick of Narrow Escape IPA on 11 Dec 2015 at 23:39 - Score: 7
