Tap at BCS. Clearish copper brown with no head. Caramel notes with some grass hops on the nose. Medium bitterness on the palate with some light chocolate and caramel in the background. Finish is slightly bitter. Probably the best of the Oregon Beer Geeks beers today (outside of Cascade of course) at BCS. Not a bad amber at all.

King kitty red ale 5.8% 60 IBU a deep reddish brown with an off-white head. The taste is a bitter biscuit maltiness with a citrusy peppery flavor. Ok.

Tap at Bud. Orange-brown, clear, with a low head. Nose of chocolate, caramel, rich, malty nose like a brown ale. big caramel and toffee flavor, but very bitter as well. Malty and bitter brown ale really.

On tap at Coalition, pours an opaque dark amber with a small white head. Aroma has a good balance of resinous hops and bready caramel malt. Flavour is dry, with bready malts and a touch of resinous hops - less hops than in the nose. Bland and weak, but clean and decently balanced.

Bomber. Pours a clear dark amber color with a medium light tan head. A light caramel and toast nose. The flavor is light bitter hops, some caramel, maybe sweet toffee, pretty dry overall. Light, pretty nice. A bit of fruity hops, medium orange peel in the finish.

Draft at Coalition Brewing in Portland, OR on 4 June 2013. Poured a slightly hazy amber. Grainy malt and some grassy hop on the nose. Hop resin flavours offset by some nice roasty malt notes on the palate. Very balanced and drinkable for a red.

Good to be rater #10. Bomber from Made in Oregon. Pours translucent dark amber - maybe a touch of ruddiness. Slight creamy beige/tan head. Aroma is mixed fruit over smooth slightly roasted malt. Med body. Lots of flavor - no one flavor is too intense - but there’s quite a mix. Fruit/toffee/chocolate I’d say among others. It’s bitter enough to say it’s towards dry. Finish is sort of a chocolate tinged earthiness. It’s a good beer, and much nicer to quaff than most ambers.

Draught@brewpub (Portland, OR)
Dark copper color, small steady off-white head. Light caramelly aroma with some toasty notes. Light-bodied. Weak caramel, weak bread in the flavor. Not much going on there.

Called a red ale. Named after Leo, a neighbourhood cat. Draught. Pours red with medium fast dissipating head. Light lacing. Balanced aroma with some breadiness, like rye bread. All over the mouth flavour. full mouthfeel. Tastes lower in alcohol than it is. Hop finish with some tangerine.
