The addition of blackcurrant enhances the dark fruit aspect of our latest concept beer, while the liquorice brings flavours of aniseed and treacle. A brandy-like warmth replaces roast malt as the backbone of this complex brew.

On tap at Carwyn Cellars. Pours black with a ruby hue. Aniseed, blackcurrant, chocolate, cherry, blueberry, more smooth chocolate. Strong liquorice, but with a nice sweet fruitiness to balance and plenty of stout in the background. Not full of subtlety, but full of flavour.

Vom Fass Stone Brewing Berlin 2016-10 getrunken. Ist das Kümmel oder Sternanis? Nein Lakritze und ohne heftige Bitterkeit. Der Alkohol ist sehr gut eingebunden. Ein sehr gutes Stout.

Bottle at Beer Ma. Pours a black color with a huge beige head. A big hot currant nose. Rich dark fruit, sightly sour. Smoky, salty.

Bottled at AndySnow tasting. Hazy mahogany colour, small. Aroma of black currant lemonade and aniseed. Mid sweet with medium body and clean mouthfeel. Black currant lemonade concentrate and aniseed dominates completely. Simplistic.
