Tap @ BeerFes Yokohama, September 17th, 2017. Pours dark brown not so carbonated so almost no foam. Nose has some lactic notes, light roast bitterness and herbal hop notes. Tastes light and toasty, hop bitterness blending quite well with roast so overall ends up being nice and drinkable. Roast and burnt bread lingers for quite long.

Takeout from CBM Koenji. Pours a deep brown with a finger of beige foam. Big roasty cacao nib nose with light coffee and roasted malt. Full-bodied for Marca with a rich, roasty chocolate flavor. Bitter, roasty, hoppy finish. Quite nice and probably my favorite beer from Marca so far. --- Beer merged from original tick of Black IPA on 21 Sep 2016 at 19:53 - Score: 7. Original review text: Easily one of Marca's best. Great roasted cacao nib nose with coffee and roasted malt. Full bodied, great lacing. Mmmmmmmmm

Tap at the brewpub. Very roasty nose, rather stout-like, cocoa and coffee. Black, cloudy. nice chocolate flavor, earthy hops, some pine and citrus. Light, crisp, good. Would prefer a touch more citrus, but well done.

On tap at the brewpub. Black IPA 6.7% A deep brown verging on black. Big soft chocolatey aroma with mild piney hop notes. Mes-light bodied with an raspy mouthfeel. The taste is chocolate with light pine. A very solid black IPA.
