Can from my local Gourmet City. Ginga Kogen's Extra Pale Ale, 100% hopped with Citra. 5% Nice deep orange pour with a fizzy light beige head. Very lemoney, light white pepper and a buttery maltiness at first which then disappeared. Light bodied with a raspy carbonation. The taste is a vibrant citra hoppiness but the malts just don't provide enough support. Decent but it could have been great. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours messy and dirty orange-brown. Not really pleasant to the eye. Aroma is OK, some malty breadiness, feels at east fresh. Taste has some hop bitterness, not sweet - but really messy. No Citra there - if you don’t call the skunky hops that they have used Citra. Overall, drinkable and better than usual macro’s but not anything I would search out again.

Can. Not extra pale, but a dirty, muddy, brown orange color with lace. Nose is caramel, cepicy Brit hops, tobacco, cinnamon, grass. Sweet caramel and fruit flavor, orange, peach, apples, not much hop. Vey boring and lame attempt. Not bad, but they could easily aim higher.. Ok body.

Can from food show in shibuya. Drank from the can. Some light citrus on the nose. Light lemon zest, citrus and some caramel on the palate. Fairly dry and crisp finish with some bitterness. Not as sweet as their other beers. Really not bad. Couldn’t really find the Citra though... --- Beer merged from original tick of EXTRA Pale Ale on 07 Sep 2015 at 19:08 - Score: 5
