With all these pseudo-craft beers being made it’s hard to keep on top of them all. I decided to follow Suntory’s Craft Select series.I missed the Märzen 5.5% when it first came out but was able to track it down. It pours a light amber with a malty caramel biscuit aroma that isn’t half bad. Light bodied with a dry finish and sharp carbonation I don’t care for so much. The taste is nutty, aspartame like artificial sugar, tannic maltiness. Smells better than it tastes, drinkable but I’ll pass on this if I see it again...

Pours amber, initially a bit of a beige head but in seconds that is history. Aroma is fill of caramel, bit of toffee, feels heavy. Almost missing carbonation. Taste is sweetish caramel, bit on the heavier side - which is not necessarily bad as it also means the body is more solid. Hint of some buttering hops in the finish. Overall, average effort and not really good beer (and maybe also not my favourite style), but definitely drinkable.

Can. Deep orange-amber with a low, fine head. Malty nose, caramel, sugar. A bit weird and fake aspect to the caramel. rich malt flavor, brown sugar, caramel. More like a Vienna. Decent enough, though a bit full and the caramel is a bit fake.
