Can from Lawson. Drank straight from the can. Belgian yeast aroma with some fruity esters and grain. Taste is similar. After it warms up a tad it gets that chuhai mouthfeel and the spirits start to separate from the other ingredients as the old familiar 3rd category beer taste takes over. Belg White was better. --- Beer merged from original tick of Gold Belg on 03 Jul 2015 at 22:29 - Score: 4

Can. Been hearing a lot about this. It is legally 3rd category. Uses Belgian malts and yeast to make a happoshu, then an addition of spirits to clear the tax laws. Nose is rich malt, biscuity, with clear Belgian yeast character. There is a bit of estery peach and orange. Sweet and spicy flavor, fruity. This is very close to a Leffe Blonde. It’s not all that special at all, but decent. Probably the best 3rd category to date.
