--Keg at Esse, Chengdu. -- Hazy golden, mid sized head. Aroma of tangerine and nectarine. Sweet with light body and rounded, creamy mouthfeel. White bread, coriander and tangerine, some mango. Low bitterness.

On tap at Big Smoke. Mandarin wheat 15 IBUs 4.8% An opaque light gold with a Wheaty butterscotch diacetyl aroma. Taste is wheaty sweet butterscotch, not terrible but nowhere near style. Second fail at a wheat beer in Beijing, what gives?

Pours pale, hazy, whitish. Thin layer of foam, goes away in seconds. Aroma is soft, not much going on, simple. Taste has a bit of sourness from wheat, pretty simple and not overly exciting. Some lingering wheat sourness in the aftertaste.

Bottle. cloudy blonde, hazy. Nose is minerals, wheat, funky, earthy, spicy flavors of wheat and citrus. Ok.

Pale hazy golden color. Slightly sour nose, but not much mandarian Orange character. Creamy wheaty mouth, but not balanced or that smooth.
