Tap at CBM Koenji. Bit of B.O. in the aroma, high bitterness, bit of citrus. Packs a punch at the start but the end is s bit subdued. Grapefruit, light sweetness.

Apparently this is a NEIPA. Tap at Craft Beer Holiday. Johana Masaru IPA 6% IBU 60 Cloudy gold with a soapy white head and a sweet juicy aroma, maybe a bit of butterscotch diacetyl but less than in Nangokukiban. Medium bodied and pretty dry for a NEIPA, the taste has a buttery character up front mixed with lots of juicy hazy hop goodness. Abrasive carbonic body this beer has the makings of greatness but doesn’t seem to come together well. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at Bungalow. Cloudy, glowing yellow, fine low thick head. Lovely nose, huge grapefruit, saltines. Clean and herbal. Clean, crisp flavor, crackers and citrus. Great stuff. Maybe just a bit too bitter. Johana is getting better and better.
