Tap at the taproom. Amazing drinkability for the %. Tastes is lightly caramelly, still bitter though. Maybe touch of booze in the finish. And then toffee! Pretty damn nice. Touch of skunk and cat pee hops in the aroma. Really interesting though. Minerals. Boozy fruit. Lots going on.

On tap at y. Market tap takeover at CBM jimbocho terrace. Murky copper with 2 fingers of dense beige foam. Huge grapefruit and orange juice nose that gets better as it warms. Slightly boozy on the palate. More ruby red grapefruit on the palate and still sweet. Tons of fruity pulp and citrus. This must be around a year old or so as well. A big imperial IPA but a bit old at this point. Still a fun beer. --- Beer merged from original tick of W Market IPA on 19 Apr 2016 at 19:49 - Score: 7. Original review text: Big grapefruit nose with juicy orange on the palate. Boozy but not overly so. 10.2 is fairly well hidden. Solid.

Tap at the brewpub. Golden orange color, cloudy. The nose is like frozen fruit salad. Tropical and citrus fruits. Medium sweetness, actually quite dry for the style, which is wonderful after so many super sweet W-IPAs. Great fruit flavors and quite a bit of booze. Big and juicy. It is a few months old, and seems to have mellowed very nicely.

W-market IPA 10.2% On tap at the Y Market First Anniversary Event. It pours an incredibly clear copper gold with s great off white head. The nose is sweet fruit malts and resinous hop dankness. Probably one of the highest ABV beers made in Japan that isn’t barrel aged. Medium-bodied with that raspy carbonation this is a full on double IPA. The taste is malty sweet with a dash of booze, hop punch dazes you with pine & resin. Great stuff.
