Lots of dry strawberry and hibiscus. Malty dirty but big hibiscuses flavored. Slight astringent.

Tap at Watering Hole for the Y. Market tap-takeover event. Pours a hazy pinkish rose color with a one-finger soapy, light pink head. Big saison-like Belgian yeast nose with light hibiscus and berry. Spritzy carbonation with a medium to light body. Super, crisp and refreshing with dry, fruity finish. Just enough malt backbone to fill it out. Awesome. --- Beer merged from original tick of Hibiscus Abbey on 15 Nov 2015 at 17:35 - Score: 8

Tap at the brewery. Pours nice reddish orange, just a bit of foam, maybe slightly too cold. Aroma has citrus, a bit of malts shining through. Taste is fruity, sour, feels like hibiscus. Nice very refreshing brew, would be perfect for summer. Light bodied but that’s OK.

Tap at the brewpub. Watermelon or salmon pink, cloudy, with a fine, low cidery head. Nose is hibiscus, pink grapefruit, lemon. Nice balance, biscuity malt, tangy hibiscus and grapefruit. Crisp and clean. I don’t like hibiscus, but this was a good beer.

Hibiscus abbey on tap at Y Market’s First Anniversary Event. A reddish orange pour on this 5% beer gives it the look of grapefruit or blood orange juice. Fruity citrus nose. Medium bodied with a raspy hyperactive prickly carbonation - but actually kind of fun. The taste is sweet blood orange, light hibiscus and quite well balanced. This was quite popular at the event.

On tap at Y. Market brewery. Pours out a pink grapefruit flesh color topped with a small pinkish head. Nose is nice lots of hibiscus notes along with a good sweetness. Taste is more of the hibiscus notes a good little belg yeast touch. A touch tart and sweet. A very well done beer.
