Tap at the taproom. Lovely. Aroma is coffee, roasty. Taste is similar bit with an interesting twist, light apple cider funkiness. Roasty finish. Bit fruity, pear and apples. Light Belgian funkiness. Smooth, little thick but easy drinking.

Dark brown color. Light brown head. Cacao, chocolate cake and dark fruit nose. Big yeasty character, very Belgian. The yeast dominates with some dark fruit but thinner than I thought. Interesting stuff. Don’t love Belgian stouts but this is good.

Y Market Brewing - Trinity Black 8.2% On tap at Molto. A deep reddish brown that is black in the glass with a tan head. It’;s got a fruity chocolate fudge aroma. The taste is bitter roasted malts, raisins, chocolate & pitted fruit. A bit less body than I’d like but overall quite solid.

Re-rate: Tap at Craft Heads Y. Market Tap-Takeover. Same coffee and cacao nib notes on the nose along with some dark fruit. The dryness is still there but pleasant. The yeast really works well and the pepper plays nicely against the sweetness. Dry cocoa-forward finish that lingers. Solid. 8.8% ABV version on tap at Watering Hole. Big roasted malt and espresso nose with some dark chocolate with some dark fruit. Taste is very Belgian. The yeast is there. Very dry mouthfeel almost a little chalky. Roasty and bitter finish. Not bad, but again a slight slip for Y Market. --- Beer merged from original tick of Trinity Black on 04 Sep 2015 at 19:26 - Score: 7
