Keyaki. Hoppy, tropical fruit, grapefruit. After a while bitterness fades. Citrus. Good stuff but feels more ipa like. Lots of hops. Easy drinking!

Hazy, bit of foam, pale straw. Fresh hoppy character in the nose. Taste is also fresh and hoppy, feels more like an IPA than a lager. Super nice though, some lager bitterness still there. Snappy. Enjoying this a lot, need to visit their place in Nagoya.

2016 Rerate: Tap at Gremlin for TUF event. Good juicy lemony nose with some grassy notes. Clean body with some tartness. Juicy and slightly tart finish. Nice carbonation. Old 2015 rating: On tap at Y Market pop-up shop in Shibuya. Hazy light orange color with a small off-white head. Floral aromas with some pineapple and and citrus on the nose. Great carbonation and mouthfeel. Bitter and sweet on the palate with the floral and citrus flavors becoming more pronounced as it warms up. Clean, crisp and refreshing with a nice dry bitter finish. --- Beer merged from original tick of MEIYON Lager on 30 Mar 2015 at 15:07 - Score: 8

very light amber color. Big citrusy nose. The mouth is fairly sweet with lots of grapefruit. Seems like it would be very bitter but really just malty and fruity with low bitterness. Very odd approach, but certainly not bad.

Part of the tasting set at Beer Keyaki Spring 2014. An opaque gold pour with a filmy beige head. The aroma is solid: a mildly bitter nose of clean spicy earthy bitterness. A good smell of malt & noble hops but a touch hoppier than most lagers. Clean tasting with a balanced hop/malt profile. Tasty & easy to drink. Very nice. This and the Maruhachi IPA were my fav Y Market beers at the fest.
