Tap at Gremlin. Sweet, Belgian feeling almost, rich and fruity, dark fruit. But mainly sweetness. Low carb of course. Caramel there but the dark fruit sweetness dominates. Feels more like a dubbel to me. Nice though. Alcohol is hidden, but maybe I'll feel it afterwards.

Pours dark brown, not that much of foam there but still a bit. Aroma of caramelised sugar, toffee and molasses. Sort of what I would expect from the style. Taste is surprisingly parfumy, almost like paint. Caramel, booze and brown sugar. Body is light and drinks OK, still not fully rounded.

Bottle shared at Gremlin. Thanks Hiro-san! Pours a muddy brown with a small beige ring of foam that dissipates fairly quickly. Olives, cured ham, fudge, leather and a big smack of sorghum as it warms up. Full body with a slightly oily mouthfeel. Very little carbonation. Super complex for the style with a boatload of umami flavors that jump out on the palate and nose. Finishes slightly dry with some very light smoke undertones. Very unique take on the style from my experience.

Nice mahogany color. Plums with smoked baked ham in the nose - reminds of ham steaks with plum sauce my grandparent often served me as a kid. Very malty. Very low carbonation, to the point where I think the carbonation is too low. Its a bit too sweet, but not cloying. The plum and smoked ham continue in the mouth with a subtle lingering smoked ham finish. Good stuff, but has potential to be amazing with a bit of tweaking.

The Scotch Ale pours a lovely dark brown with a thick foamy beige head. Much better looking than the IPA, it has a fruity fudge caramel nose, with a smooth creamy mouthfeel & a med-full body. The taste is rich dark malts caramel, fudge, tobacco, pretty darn good.

Bottle with KBL. Nice nose of caramel, port, fudge, umami. Dark brown with a fine head. Deep caramel and fudge flavors, dried fruits, something from the sea, a touch of tobacco. Very well done.
