Adding because system says I hadn't rated it (did back in 2012). Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours very dark brown with a dark tan head. Strong, fairly dark chocolate aroma. Full bodied. The flavor is quite chocolate, there’s some yeast/spice contributions, and there’s a very slight touch of heat. Underneath is a slightly ashy dark toasted malt. There is indeed a Belgian aspect that’s ever in the middle of every taste. Per label 10% ABV and 68 IBUs. The finish is fairly dry, and it is bitterish. But it doesn’t fit my concepts of bitter very well. Always good to try something different. Excellent drink.

Sample at the Tap House Grill in Seattle. Pours inky black with a medium light brown head that dissipates slowly to an outer ring. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Roasted malt and chocolate in the nose along with a trace of hops. Medium to full body with a roasty character and notes of coffee and chocolate malt. The finish is malty with a mocha aftertaste. Above average overall.
