Bottle from Tanakaya. Pours a clear, light gold with a small carbonated head that leaves a ring around the edge. Light funk aromas with some pear, grape cobwebs and horse blanket. Taste is more of the same, good funk but kind of one dimensional. Nice and dry with active carbonation. Almost like a dry saison. I like it. Not really sour or tart at all, just basement saison-like with a touch of pear. Very interesting. --- Beer merged from original tick of Iwate Kura Shizen Hakko Beer on 19 Sep 2015 at 21:28 - Score: 7. Original review text: Great....like bone-dry saison!!

light golden color. No nose, but the mouth is full of funk. Cobweb, barnyard , funk. Wow. It has no body and totally lacks tartness, which would take this to the next level. Still very interesting.

5% On tap at Eni-bru as part of a sampler set. A clear copper gold with minimal head. A very floral nose for a med-light bodied beer. The taste is fruity, I’d probably class this as a golden ale you get plum, peach, lemon fruit notes with a hearty dose of malt base. Well balanced!

Bottled. A hazy yellow beer with a thin white head. The aroma has notes of fruits (is it persimon?) lemons, and brettanomyces. The flavor is sweet with an acidic edge and notes of fruis, brettanomyces, and straw, leading to a dry finish. Thanks KyotoLefty for sharing.

33 cl bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a small white head. Fruity and light yeasty. Sweet, toasted malty and light funky. Bitter, toasted and lingering fruity. Mild bitter too.

Bottle from Yamaoka. Cloudy gold, slightly pastel, huge airy head. Crazy nose: citrus, yogurt, grass, dust. Sweet, fruity, funky flavor, with lemon, honey, yogurt, dust. Spicy, yeast, Belgian like. Dry finish. Saison-like, funky barnyard. Very fruity, light acidity. Dry finish with sweet fruity mid-palate.

Medium white head. Slightly hazy coppery body with carbonation. Fruity vinegary aroma with mealy notes. Dry-sweetish, and faintly acidic, intensely fruity (persimmon?) taste with mealy notes. Mid-to-light body. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dry-acidic orangey tropical fruit aftertaste with mealy metallic notes. Lovely! Well-balanced and harmonic, and very drinkable. The acdity is very subtle for a lambic, I must say. Whether you can taste the persimmon or not I can’t say, having never tasted a persimmon. (0.35l draft at brewery.)
