Tap at Transit. Little darker than a regular weizen. Bit less banana and bit more spice maybe. Feels almost thicker. Light sweetness, wheaty of course. Kind of fruity too. Maybe cherry like. Interesting.

Bottle from Tanakaya. Pours a murky, light copper with a huge soapy head that lasts throughout. Looks like a dunkel weizen. Milk chocolate covered bananas on the nose with some clove, nutmeg and fruity esters. Palate-clensing, but a feels a bit heavy almost like a weizenbock, although the abv is only around 5%. Finishes sweet with a slight dirty, yeasty character that coats the palate. Not bad, but could be better. --- Beer merged from original tick of Winter Weizen on 28 Nov 2015 at 21:16 - Score: 6

Bottle from Yamaoka served in a weizen glass. Baeren Winter Weizen which pours a malty looking amber gold with a thick fluffy off-white head that lasts a long time and has very nice looking lacing. The nose is bready malts and spicy cloves. Medium to full bodied with a pleasing goku goku chewy body. The taste has a slight candyish quality to it but you get chewy bready malts, cloves and bready banana. Quite nice, Baeren is keeping up their streak of good quality German-style brews. It hits the spot.

Draft - Wheat, and a bit of mandarin. Cloudy dark orange with a decent beige head. Wheat and a bit of mandarin and a bit of spice. Sounds weird but a bit do umame.

Bottled. A different recipe to the Summer version. This is amber colored, dark, and maltier. Some caramel and chocolate to go with lots of clove and a bit of banana. Somehow a bit harsh, with a slightly dirty finish, but still nice.
