(Bottle 50 cl) Pours an almost clear amber golden with a dense and creamy off-white head leaving laces. Full fat aroma hoppiness. Quite full-bodied with lots of sweet caramel malt, but also some not completely pleasant phenol accents and some spicy, herbal notes that combined with the sweetness gives the beer a cough syrup like medicinal character. Bitter finish with a distinct alcohol burn. 140608

On tap at Århus Ølfestival. A slightly hazy orange-golden beer with a small, off-white head. Sweetish and malty on the nose, with a tiny note of cooked vegetables in the background. Sweet and fruity in the mouth, with a nice citrusy hoppyness giving a pleasant bitterness. Fullbodied, with a fruity finish. A dangerously quaffable, un-complex and pleasant beer. (080516)

2009-11-27, cask at Lord Nelson, Copenhagen, 9-4-8-4-17=42
Cloudy amber color; thin but persistent head. Interesting aroma: caramel, cheese, finally fruits. Good mouthfeel, smooth because of the low cask carbonation, with good caramel flavor and some sweetness; fruity hopping. Very pleasant.
2008-09-25, bottle, 7-4-8-4-15=38
Hazy amber color, thick head. Aroma of hops, partially fruity, and caramel. Good body structure, with a strong toffee flavor and strong bitterness; the hop qualities (some fruity character and the resins) show mostly towards the end. There are no more the traces of a fermentation/maturation issue as last time I tried it, but the yeast presence is still too noticeable.
2008-05-17, bottle at Ølfestival 2008, Århus, 7-4-8-4-15=38
Hazy amber color, creamy head. It’s a good and solid IIPA, with a very good sweet toffee flavor and a quite strong body; also the bitterness is quite bold; but the fermentation process has to be improved, as there are strange traces here and there... (esters, diacetyl?)

Draught, 8.3% at ÅBF08. Good spicy hop aroma. Nice sweet and spicy hop flavour. Quite nice. Hint of yeast. They could have done more with such a high ABV.
