Bottle. Bit smoky and spicy aroma, chocolate. Taste is good. Choc, bit of spice, roast. Bit sweet. Decent. I was roasted myself when I had this.

On tap at Beer Keyaki Spring 2014. A nice dark beer with a thick tan head that dissipates & clings to the glass. Sweet chocolatey aroma. Medium to full bodied with a creamy mouthfeel. The taste is bitter chocolate with a bit of a tang. Nice.

Full bodied, decent chocolatey character, malty. A touch sweet, but never cloying. Not my favorite style, but decently executed.

Draught at Tokyo Dome “Furusato Matsuri.” Roasty, creamy chocolate nose. Sweet and creamy yet nicely balanced by roasted malt. Dark chocolate, café au lait notes. A bit simple but good. I’ll label it a Foreign stout even though they described it as “Imperial.” Generally the Japanese “Imperial Stout” is a foreign export…
