Father in law stocked fridge with this nicely knowing I enjoy craft brew. Pours amber with citrus and floral nose. Tastes of grapefruit, caramel, malt, earth, and light bitter and sweetness. Decent

Sample at Ale Wine & Spirits in Powell on 02/23/2012. Pours a deep amber-orange color with a medium creamy off-white head that recedes steadily. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of piney hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of resiny hops, citrus and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a citrusy hops aftertaste. Above average overall.

Bottle. Cloudy amber body with a frothy, off-white head. Nose of leafy hops, caramel, husks, toasted grain, grapefruit and flowers. More malt than hop aroma by far. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Medium to full body, full, creamy texture, moderate carbonation. Tastes of flowers and caramel with a bitter aftertaste.

Bottle from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours very dark copper with a slight beige head. Aromas of toasty malt and a little floral/citrus hop. Med body. Flavor is rather a mix of citrus and floral over a decent caramel background. Seems a bit more flavorful than many IPAs.

12 ounce bottle from State Line. Pours a dark copper color with a medium sized offwhite head. Decent head retention and lacing. Nice herbal, earthy, floral and citrus hop aroma with some caramel malts. The taste is big citrus hop notes. Pale malty notes in the background, including some caramel. Medium bodied. Well balanced. Nice beer.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite - Jersey City, 12/10/10
Aroma: The nose is fairly subtle with earthy hops, caramel, pine, and some floral notes
Appearance: It pours a cloudy amber color with a moderate white, and sticky laced head
Flavor: The taste is mildly sweet, well-balanced, with an earthy bitter hop bite to it
Palate: It is medium bodied, drinkable and crisp with a nice dry finish
Overall Impression: I found this to be a solidly made IPA. I've been fairly happy with Lake Placid from what I've tried thus far. This one could use a little rounding to make it better, but I enjoyed drinking it.

in bottle @ GIBF, really nice IPA from a brewer that I am liking more and more. not overbearing, just the right amount of body and character, could use a little more citrus to combat the pine taste, but very nice.
