Tap at Craft Hands. Amber colour, small golden head. Aroma is full on resinous hops, bit of cat pee, spiky maltiness. Taste is alright too, initial bitterness, hops, grapefruit, then quickly goes to something floral or herbal maybe and twiggy too. Finish is spiky and bitter, bit of alcohol too, lingers a while. Pretty good and a pleasant surprise after the last beer I tried by them. Maybe a bit too boozy to drink too much of though. Menu said 8%. Rerate at brewery, Nov 14. Guessing the last time it was the IIPA. This time it's nice if unspectacular. US hops, light maltiness, grassy, bit of pine. Pleasant light funkiness. Good.

On tap at Ibaraki Bakuon. T.Y. Harbor IPA 6% a cloudy orange born pour with a thick beige head. The nose is fruity with a green hop pellet character to it. The taste is a green bitter hop freshness with a decent maltiness. Pretty good.

Tap into a shaker showing moderate filtration with dark honey/amber tones and a finger of clean quickly dissipating foam. Highly opaque Some steel tanks but barely any aroma at all. The palate shows some of the same steel tank notes with moderate notes of mango and guava, very good support, full bodied with distinct IPA bitterness at finish. If anything, it’s a standard IPA with a very subdued nose.

On tap at smokehouse. Hazy orange color with an off-white head. Pine needle, floral hops and grapefruit aromas present. Flavor is fairly hop forward to its a touch of caramel malt in there. Long lingering bitter finish.

Draft to a plastic cup @ Nippon Craft Beer Festival 2014. Pours hazy amber, a bit of foam. No aroma in the beginning, maybe it’s too warm. Taste is very IPA-like though. Hops are biting right away, resiny and pine needle notes follow. Strong body balancing hop bitterness. Long bitter aftertaste where you can also feel some melon and pine needle next to each other. Well done IPA, that can be sipped slowly. At the same time not overly special, good example of a style.

Draught at the brewpub. Glowing gold, almost pastel, with a fine, low head. Hoppy nose, citrus mainly with grass, bread, very light chocolate and caramel. Prickly citrus hop flavor with bread and crackers. Refreshing and quite nice. Good bitterness. Hop flavor could be more focused, sharper. A but too much biscuit. Good though.

Deep Amber color, cotton candy, apples and oranges in the nose (it has promoise, no infection!!). The mouth starts hoppy with grapefruits, but I found malt character was lacking and lacked depth. Snappy hoppy finish. OK, but not so interesting 3.1 in 2005 13 yrs later I decided to revisit m. Fairly murky brown color. Nice resiny pine and grapefruit notes with some toffee undertones. Aggressive bitterness. Over carbonated and a bit simple but pleasant enough. Rating reflects new score
