Phoenix's take, on the classic English Porter with the addition of crushed coffee beans which gives the beer an added layer of complexity. Dark rich colour with a flattering carbonation.

Layered aromas of cocoa powder, coffee and cigar box with a toffee finish.

Bottle. Pours cloudy very dark brown with airy but stable tan head. Mild aroma of tar and roast, with estery notes. Bitter flavour of roast and hops, with sweetish notes of yeast, malt and chocolate amf touches of lactose and tar. Roasty amd slightly acidic aftertaste with tarry notes. Quite decent.

12/7/2018. Bottle from 67 Kapitali, Valletta, Malta. Gushing on opening. Pours almost black with a quickly dissipating beige colour head. Aroma of chocolate, dark fruits, berries, roasted malt, hint of coffee and vanilla. Medium sweetness, light bitterness, hint of fruity sour. Medium body, watery but also slight slickness to texture, with soft carbonation. An easy drinking, though not especially robust, porter.

Bottle @ Meat Gang, hint from the brewer after the normal beer places in Malta failed having it available. Stark karbonisierter Antrunk. Weiche aber sehr trockene Noten von Kaffee, mild herb, moderat röstig. Zum Mittelteil runder, der Kaffee bleibt konstant, ist aber weniger trocken. Spritzig, mittellanger Nachhall. Nett. 10/9/9/10/9/9

Bottle 330ml (BB 08.07.2018). Dark brown with very short, beige head. There is coffee, roasty notes on the nose. But it seems the beer is watery and the taste proved it. There is coffee hint but beer is too much carbonated and it definitely destroyed the taste and feeling.

Milk chocolate brown colour, medium sized dense, though not too stable beige head; aroma of raspberry, coffee, some chocolate, ash and toasted rye bread; taste is the same with some sourish woody notes and hints of citruses; good porter
