Flavour characteristics: Speight’s Pilsner originated from recipes of a bygone era in a quest to recreate flavours as true as possible to the original style. Speight’s Pilsner was historically fermented in kauri gyles - open topped wooden fermentation vats which are lined with beeswax.
This beer is quite spicy and fruity on the nose. It has a clean bitter flavour. This beer is best matched to spicy foods or rich tomato dishes.

Mediocre foam unless poured aggressively, clear yellow body and good carbonation bubbles. Soft cardboard and rotting sweet cabbage on the nose. Flavour is inconsequential wet bread with sugar. Lingering additives on the mouth. This one kind of sucks.

Pint on tap, Adelphi Kaikoura. Sparkling pale amber beer with solid white head. Steady carbonation. Hoppy vegetal nose. Watery and sad. Slight sweetness in the finish, lots of tin. Macro nightmare, hard to enjoy.
