Enjoyed on tap at Local Option in Chicago, IL while hanging out with a good friend on his birthday. I was very hesitant to purchase this as it was $9 for 10 oz., but I enjoyed so much that I also purchased for the b-day boy. Appearance pure black creamy tan head. Aroma chocolate and alcohol, soft but prevalent. Taste of chocolate, coffee, mint, spices, alcohol, a ton going on, happy with my purchase..

On tap on Mikkeller Day at the Cask, Pub and Kitchen. Brown with a reddish hue. Smoke, herbs and vanilla aromas. Chocolate, vanilla, charcoal, raisins and nuts in the taste. Quite a burnt flavour. Nutty mouthfeel. Good alcohol burn. Warming, sweet, nutty finish.

Bottle (label said 9.1% ABV):
Pours a deep chestnut colour with a thick head. Aroma is juniper, liqurice, blood orange and some dried fruit. Flavour is somewhat roasted and has notes of juniper, nutmeg and vanilla. Long, dry nutmeg-finish. Full of spices but still balanced.

75cl Bottle from Carlsens Kvarter, Odense. Pours dark unclear brown with a small lasting white head. Nose is fruit, alcohol and spices. Flavor adds berries, anis and dark fruit. Syrupy and sweet. Full bodied. I liked last years version a lot more!

Dark brown with a lasting off-white head. Aroma of citrus, caramel, brown sugar and grassy hops. Sweet citrus, caramel and sugar flavour. The sweetness and the plain sugar flavour is dominating. Not as balanced as previous vintages

Bottled vinyl cork 750ml (Alko, BB 09/2016)
Dark brown color, good beige-brown head, lace. Suprisingly weak nose starts with alcohol, then some dark fruits, paper and rubber-like spices. Full-bodied. Quite alcoholic with hops and spices. Licorice, candy sugar, clove, nuts. Powerful with lots of alcohol, real winter warmer. Less hoppy than previous edition, but needs lots of ageing to improve. At least it has potential!
