A collaboration with Hobday & Anspach, homebrewers [At The Time] (pretty good ones imho) who are keen to start their own brewery soon. We used Pale, Melanoidin, CaraPils and Oat malts along with Herkules, Wai-iti & Willamette hops in kettle and Columbus & Kohatu dry hop. We kept the abv low for sale at the Beehive, our sister pub, who prefer to sell beers 4% and below.

Cask at Brew Wharf. Pale watery amber colour, small bubbly white head. Aroma is soft lemony grasssy hops, little bit of stink. Taste is ok, not massive amount there, quite grainy, little bit of light citrus again. At the Brewpub! Almost clear gold beer. Tidy white head. Palate is light and slightly soft. Fine minerally carbonation. Nice hops - bitterish grass and mild orange pith. Unusual trace red berry fruits, strawberry readily identifiable. Touch of marmalade. Finishes dry and pretty bitter. Long strong bitter linger. Nice beer but just a little thin in the palate. The Beehive should sod off and get a life!
