2010-06-19, corked bottle, from De Hereen Van Liedeckerke, 9-5-8-4-17=43
Hazy light amber color; small, creamy, persistent head. The aroma is quite corky, cobwebs, followed by evident cheese and light lemon. The mouthfeel is smooth, with microbubbles; in the front there is an aggressive woody astringency, much more than the Blaw, with dry malt, a bit dusty, with bitter oranges; the final is dry and with aggressive tannins. The ending bitterness is quite high for a Gueuze, more than the Blaw.
Excellent, but I prefer the less aggressive Blaw.

2007-09-22, bottle at Akkurat, Stockholm Beer Festival 2007, after festival RB night
as Akkurat’s Oude Geuze 50/50, 9-5-8-4-18=44

Hazy golden color; creamy head. Amazing aroma: malt, wet wool, brie cheese, light leather, cork oak, dust, light grapefruit, mushrooms… Aggressive, extremely astringent, some sourness, with a light mix of citrus fruits (tangerine and grapefruit mostly). Very bitter.
Complex and dreamy.

12/12/13/11/11/12

Bottle at Akkurat in May 2011. Slightly hazy golden-orange with a small white head. Very tart, almost a little bit aggressive. The mouth feel was dry. A good beer with taste of grapes, oak and dust.

Bottle at Akkurat, with a label thats being eaten alive. Shared with tarheels86. Bright cloudy golden color, lots of carbonation. Aroma of dust, cobwebs, celery salt, animal sweat. Taste is extremely dry and dusty, light body, lip smacking sourness. Marvelous.Earlier Rating: 6/26/2010 Total Score: 4.4750 ml bottle at De Heeren van Liedekiercke on day #2 of the Mobile Epic Geuze Tasting (MEGT) 2010, shared with BigMomma. Clear straw, half inch off white head, solid blanket of lace. Aroma of subtle perfume of peach. Taste is dry and dusty at the start, smooth and silky rosewater and perfume. Lovely.

Bottle looks very good, the beer in the glass also, very zippy. Starts strong-sourish, modest woody. "Aggressive" sourishness is really good. Nice!

Bottle, 6.5%. Very nice fruity aroma, hint of dry wood, and slightly spicy. Cloudy dark orange colour. The flavour also has a lot of fruit, some grape notes, slightly sweet. Very nice finish, a good dry bitterness, as if from grape. Very well-rounded, easy to drink and pleasant throughout.

75cl bottle at Delirium. Pours unclear orange with a creamy white foam and lacings. Nose and taste are both wonderful. Smooth and unoffensive in a good way. Earthy, crisp, dry, leather, barnyard, wood. Pleasant sourness. A sour bite which I would describe as velvet. Quenching and crisp. Soooo Nice. PS. Buy it in Liedekercke instead. More than 20 Euros cheaper there. Hehe Achtung - It is no longer cheaper in Liedekercke. Bottle @ Too many geuze’s only one toilet, Ulfborg 2012. Pink grape, leather, dust, mould, cellar, bretty and dry. 4,3.

Another huge thinks to Skyview for this one. Good label. Not as cloudy, and less carbonated as the Blauw, but still a great beer. Mild barnyard aroma with yeast. Sour, but again, not as sour as the othe J & J. Still dry, quite sour, and a less full, but all smoother palate. Sour aftertaste. I am surprised the Lindeman’s lambic produced a more sour beer than this one with boon.
