Bottle from the brewery. Light amber colour with small white head which fades quite quickly. Aroma is booze, bit of sticky toffee or caramel and a strange fruitiness. Taste is ok, bit of spice, caramel malt, light fruitiness, bit vegetal as well. Quite strange but not unpleasant. Won't rush for another though.

Draft at ibaraki Bakuon. Romantic Mura Hidogawa Onsen Mugishu Dortmund 5% A clear deep gold with a minimal head. The aroma is an incredibly bready maltiness with earthy noble hops. The taste is earthy hops, a light spicy hop bite in the finish and clean biscuity malts. An impressively clean lager. Really good, the more I drank the more I liked it. Ap 4 ar 7 t 8 p 4 o 15

0,33 l bottle brought to me as a souvenir from Kinugawa Onsen. According to online search, this is a pretty new beer (from 2013) where they are using some mineral rich water from Kinugawa and also 20% of malt and some hops are self-grown. Pours very light copper, almost with no head. Smells alcohol (it does have 7% ABV), also something sweet, fruit cookie. Taste is quite malty, some alcohol and minerals. Aftertaste short, not many hops here. Overall, it feels like a strong lager that still has some potential for improvement. Still a surprise as it is definitely more interesting as your average Japanese souvenir beer.
