This Ale is our take on a classic Belgian Wit beer. To make this unique beer unique, we add un-malted wheat, rolled oats, two varieties of classic European hops, chamomile, curacao orange peel, coriander, grains of paradise and a rare yeast strain from the Old Country.

Lys brun tåkete med lavt offwhite skum. Lukter risgrøt med kanel. Også en del kanel i smak, ganske tam ellers. Kort. Noe syrlighet.

21.07.2015, 0,35l can @ home:
Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly dry floral, chamomille, hay, weeds, grass, citrus peel, cinnamon. Taste is sour-ish dry, sour grass, old sour washcloth, weeds, citrus peel, paper, soap, flowers, minerals. Little bitterness, harsh soapy mouthfeel. Crap!

Can at home. The color is slightly hazy straw and has an off-white head. Aroma of spices, lime, sweet buns and lots of flowers and perfume. The flavor is also a bit strange with lots of flowers, sweet yeasty and some hay. Has a silky mouth feel, medium body and a light bitterness. Not a typical wit at all with too much perfume and flower hairspray stuff, and not in balance. Interesting ingredients but the result is quite strange.

Unclear golden color with a fine white head. Ok lacing. Citric, yeast and very flowery. Medium body and an average carbonation. Unusual herbal and rich flowery ale. Also fruity, citric and some yeast. Refreshing and ok ale.

355ml can, 4.9% abv, from Vinmonopolet Langnes. Hazy pale yellow body, fair white head, upper level lacing. Perfumed fruity hops on the nose added by coriander. Ripe citrus, grainy malts, sweet coriander and lactose creating a strange kind of perfumed flavour. Not suitable with the Greek Lamb Pie and really not for me at all (Tromsø 04.07.2015).

Can. A- Oranges, chamomile, cinnamon, bleach. A- Orange color, hazy liquid, minimal head. T- Oranges, coriander, chamomile, wheat. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, abrupt finish. O- Decent wit. I like the addition of the chamomile, but the coriander is seemingly muted. Mostly orange tasting with some various spices like cinnamon and nutmeg added in. Soft on the palate and easy to drink. Nothing about it stands out, but nothing about it is worth forgetting either.

Pour is a cloudy yellow orange that brings a small head of foam. Some lacing.
The smell is kind of weird. I do get some coriander with a hint of cloves, but it has a strange fruity aroma that I can’t quite put my finger on.
The taste also has the strange taste. .could be lime. It is somewhat distracting and overwhelms the "normal" flavours one expects from a Wit.
Fairly light in body, lively carbonation.
Thanks Jacob for the chance to try it!

12 ounce can into pint glass, no can dating. Pours hazy bright gold color with a 1 finger fairly dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings down the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, pear, apple, orange peel, coriander, chamomile, pepper, clove, wheat, bread, oats, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and pale malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon zest, pear, apple, orange peel, coriander, chamomile, pepper, clove, wheat, oats, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light earthy spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, pear, apple, orange peel, coriander, chamomile, pepper, clove, wheat, bread, oats, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant flavors with good balance and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and pale malt notes; with very solid robustness and no cloying flavors after the finish. No watery feeling at all in the flavors. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, fairly crisp, and lightly bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with no warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice and pleasant witbier. All around good balance and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and pale malt flavors; and very smooth to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.
