Tap at Belmont Station. Aroma is great, pine, funky, cat pee. Taste is interesting, lots of bitterness, some plastic, sour cream, hint of roast, milky chocolate. Very different from other beers of this type.

Dark brown coloured body with a dense, four centimetre tall light brown head. Aroma of deep resinous and grapefruity hops with a nice roasted malt scent and some sugars coupled along with the toffee and a hint of coffee. Medium-bodied; Very nice hoppy flavour at first with grapefruit, pine, flowers and resin all noticeable, but showing a very nice roasted malt and earth flavour right behind, with an impeccable balance. Aftertaste shows a nice hoppy flavour with a strong roasted malt and coffee flavour at the end, all with a good deal of caramelised sugars and a very nice balance of hops and malt. Overall, a great Black IPA with a nice level of complexity, and a nice flavour throughout with a perfect balance and the alcohol isn’t very noticeable, despite it being a bit high. I was expecting a lot from this beer, and it more than delivered - this one is great and well worth searching out for to get it! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Belmont Station (Where Else?!?) in Portland, Oregon on 03-May-2015 for US$6,23 sampled at home in Washington on 16-October-2015 for my Daughter’s 3rd Birthday! Love you Claire.

Bottle at RBSG Grand Tasting. Pours black with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is roasted malt and dank. Thick mouth, chocolate, roast, resin finish, very nice.

Bottle, pours a dark brown with a small beige head. Nose brings out toasted mat and faint dry hopping. Flavour is well-balanced, with roasted malt, dry hops and dusty wood. Not the most invigorating beer, but well-balanced. Decent beer.

22 Oz bottle from the Belmont Station. Pours a dark fizzy cola color with a tan head to it. Roasted malt flavor with an obvious hop presence and some light cinnamon like spice. Good flavor with a drawn out toasty finish. Nicely done.

Bottle - Dark roast and big pine notes. Jet black with a rich beige head. Nice roast and pine with a bit of chocolate on the finish. This is great, very balanced without too much bitterness and you can taste the components. Fantastic beer.

Bomber from Belmont. Pours a pitch black color with a medium to small beige head. A robust nose of charred wood, roast and pine. The flavor is a heavy dose of citrus and piny hops, but the roast and dark malty body takes over a bit with spicy bitter hops in the finish. Lovely big beer. Heavy in all components, and in that sense it is balanced. Drinkable. Cool beer. A strong sweet resinous hop at times. Damn nice.

On tap at barley brown taphouse. Pours out dark brown almost black topped with a tan head. Nose is great fresh hops floral citrus pine and a awesome roast malt. Taste is amazing the heavy hop give it a nice bitterness and a nice malty sweetness on the end.
