Wheat beer’s rich legacy can be traced back to ancient Mesopotamia where Babylonians would sip the coveted drink from a communal bowl. Thousands of years later, pFriem Dunkelweizen continues the tradition legacy with a sweet dark beer overflowing with flavors of tangy orange, crème brûlée and spice cake. And though some things have changed since then, wheat beer is still best enjoyed with a cheers toast among friends.

On tap at Baileys. Earthy, light sweetness, banana, brown bread. Bit fruity too. Nice enough.

Dull hazy, fruity -phenolic, sweet on the finish, a bit sticky, maybe their least successful.

On tap at Belmont Station, pours a murky dark orange with a small white head. Aroma of bananas, roasted malt and some burnt notes. Flavour is similar, with burnt roasted bananas, crusty rye bread, and toasted nuts. Really well-balanced, with a dry, crusty bread finish. Great one.
