This classy beer represents the perfect marriage between the fresh accents and slightly acidic flavour of the black cherries. Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a mixed fermentation beer, with every hectolitre containing up to 13 kilos of fruit! Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a perfect blend of Oud Bruin and pale beer aged on cherries. The beer is matured for 18 months, bringing out the very best of its intense flavour.

Burgunder noe tåkete med lavt rosabeige skum. Lukter sure kirsebær og jordbær. Sursyrlig smak, god bærsødme, ikke for søt. Kort. Stikky

Cherry ruby red, clean and crisp. Pinkish short-lived head. High aromas of cherry, kirsch and yeast. Dry, pungent and sheer sour. Subtle persistence. Very nice in its style.

Bottle. Dark brown with deep red hue and small grey-pink head. Cherry pie, candy, cherry soda, quite spicy, caramel, fudge, banana bread, rye, butter. Quite sweet with very light tartness and light weird bitter finish. Medium bodied. Decent beer, bit too sweet and light chemical bitter finish are the only downsides.

Review based on the BJCP2008 guidelines (style 20). Bottle 75 cl - batch 03 010974 AROMA: sweet and sour aroma of cherries and cellar like aromas (barrel, woody, musty). no hop aromas discernible. APPEARANCE: brownish ruby color (from aging) and translucid. thin moussy head of a dark ivory color with low retention. TASTE: sweet and tartaric flavour of cherries mixed with cellar notes (barrel, woody). low bitterness with a semi-dry finish. PALATE: thin body with low carbonation. OVERALL: a not so bad cherry Cuvee.

Rerate: 2800 ratings later, this beer is still tasty. Aroma is a bit low on cherries, body is much gentler than most other krieks. Low acidity, but generally a smooth and simple Kriek experience. No wowing complexity, but also no harnessing sourness. Recommended for learning the style! Would reduce my rating to 7-4-8-4-15.37,5cl bottle from Drinks of the World. A beautiful reddish kriek with a very fine foam. Pleasantly sour with a clear but considerate cherry taste, this kriek is very convincing indeed.
