This classy beer represents the perfect marriage between the fresh accents and slightly acidic flavour of the black cherries. Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a mixed fermentation beer, with every hectolitre containing up to 13 kilos of fruit! Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a perfect blend of Oud Bruin and pale beer aged on cherries. The beer is matured for 18 months, bringing out the very best of its intense flavour.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein dunkel rötliches Bier mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr fruchtig, leicht säuerlich. Geschmack leicht säuerlich fruchtig, saure Kirschen.

Corked and caged bottle 37.5cl. Clear cherry red colour, fine frothy slightly tanned head, recedes but does not vanish, good lacing. Strong cherry aroma, bit of oak, fruit syrup. Taste sweet and sour cherry, nice in balance. Medium to full body, sticky texture, lively carbonation. Mild sour and sweet finish, sweetness lingers on and on. Excellent.

95 vintage bottle shared at the 2014 tasting in the Cellar of Moeder Lambic Saint-Gilles. Pours cloudy red with no head. Aroma is completely strong cherry still. Flavor is moderate sour with a soft mouthfeel. The fruit is still so fresh in the palate. Medium bodied with flat carbonation.

Liefmans Kriek Cuvee Brut. 375ml paper-wrapped Bottle. Vintage probably 2008 from Beer Mania in 2010. Aged four years in my cellar. Znakomite piwo, wspaniałe prawie pod kazdym wzgledem. Po pierwsze papier recznie owijany. Piwo moze ma nie za wielka piana ale za to pelny smak, cierpki, octowato kwaskowaty a przy tym lekko przelamujaca slodycz wisni. Winna wytrawnosc, taninowe piwo. Estry mocno wbijajace sie w nozdrza. Piwo godne lambickow. Osad nie do konca dal sie wybeltac z dna butelki. Profesjonalny i naturalny korek szampanowy, ale z gracja wystrzelil po cichu. Polecam to eleganckie piwo. Bardzo wisniowe wytrawne wino-piwo.

Bottle from the :LCBO. Pours a very deep red with a small lavender head that quickly fades. Aroma is wood, sweet grains a a background of cherries. Taste is dominated much more than the nose by the sour cherries with notes of vanilla and toffee. Medium full oily mouth with soft carbonation. Long tart finish is excellent.

Dark red colour. Not much cherry in the aroma it’s dry, woody and quite yeasty. Flavour is similar with a finish strong with cherry stones. Very sour but not vinegary.

Dunkelrote, trübe Farbe mit schönem vollen Geruch – voluminös, schwer leicht säuerlich-essigartig, aber auch nach Holz, vergorenen Kirschen, weinähnlich. Und deutlicher Korkgeruch. Der Antrunk ist sehr schön fruchtig-kirschig. Hinzu kommt eine ganz angenehme Säuerlichkeit. Der Hauptteil wird leider etwas flacher, das angenehme Kirscharoma verfliegt ziemlich schnell. Der Nachgeschmack auf der Zunge ist ganz leicht kirschig-süßlich und fällt ziemlich schnell ab. Etwas länger hält sich eine leicht holzig-essigsaure und sehr angenehme Note. Nach einigen Sekunden ist bis auf einen Hauch von Kirsche nichts mehr übrig. ïƒ Der Geruch verheißt viel mehr als der Geschmack, welcher ziemlich enttäuschend ist – zwar sehr lecker, aber viel zu flach und schnell abfallend. Insgesamt zieht sich eine leichte Essig-säuerlichkeit durchs Bier, die aber auch sehr im Hintergrund bleibt.

0.375l bottle. Deep orange/ruby body, almost no head. Aroma of sour cherry, oak and some vinegar. Taste is pretty similar to the aroma. Intense sour taste, it consist mostly sour cherry, vinegar, oak and some vanilla maybe. Really nice.
