How: Draught.
Where: Le Trappiste, Brugge.
Appearance: Dark red colour with a dark pink head.
Aroma: Sour cherry, dried fruit.
Body: Medium body with a good carbonation.
Flavour: Cherry, fruits. Rather sour, but the sweetness lessens it some.
Comment: Well balanced and refreshing.

On tap. Pours a dark ruby red with almost no head. Light aromas of cherry and wood. Flavors are primarily dark cherries with light malt backing. Not to sweet or sour. Quite nice.

Poured from the tap. Clear red colour with pinkish white head. Sour cherry and wood aroma. Sweet cherry and sweet malt flavour. Nice oily texture with sweet finish.

375ml bottle at home. Pours a stunning dark ruby with good long-lasting pink-tinged white head. Aromas, though, are of supermarket own-brand dark cherry yoghurts. Taste and finish is too sweet for me.

Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is sweet and fresh, sugar, fresh raspberry syrup, sweet cherries, oak, grass, soda powder, mild vinegar. Taste is slightly sweet and fresh, sugar, sour cherries, raspberry syrup, minerals, grass, soda powder, mild vinegar. Medium bitterness, slightly fresh mouthfeel. Nice. Frisk fruktig lukt med preg av friske kirsebær, sukker, korn, litt gras og tre. Frisk lett syrlig smak med preg av friske kirsebær, gras, korn, litt eddik. Noke sødme. Middels bitterhet som set litt. Veldig god.

Flaske delt med Ovesen og Kitty: et lekkert syn i champagneglass! Rødbrun, klar og musserende med bobleskum. Frisk, syrlig, med deilig kirsebæraroma og -smak uten å være overveldende søt. Rett og slett en herlig og lettdrikkelig sommeraperitif!

NO idea what it was, yet i’ve seen it so many times. have been told it was a chery, between sour sweet. onley after buying it, i did read the label. it should be a mixed-aged beer ( in the style of flemish old brown) with cherries added in the fresh beer ( that has than aged, and been mixed in witht he young beer with xcherries, something like that ) . so basicly, what i think right now, is that its their goudenband , with cheries, and sugar. wish sounds great, cause goudenband is good ( i had it a few days before this ) but not too complex. so this extra cherries thing, should give this a NICE extra .. pours dark dark red. foam is some redish-white colour ( yet its not pink ) .itsd rather small and fades to a layer . smell is natural cherries. and actualy pretty good. no overpowering sweetness, also i dont get sourness. yet its not chemicaly overpowering as well . hmm.. enters very sweet, but has some complexity over it, comming from that FOB-style of beer i guess. cherries dominate the taste ( a bit to much, maybe, but still very nice) aftertaste is just amazing. the real FOB-style, with the sweetness of cherries. carbonation is realy good, not to much at all ! realy drinkable . label reads it has sugar in it . the sweeter taste of cherries can definetly proof that, yet its nothing like a lindemans ( luckely !) . i do tend to miss some sourness, but overall, this is a very drinkable beer, and very nice to know : its very gettable and good-priced ;)

19-FEB-2017. BOTTLE 375 ML as Cuvee-Brut. Clear dark, diminishing pink head. Strong sour cherry aroma with quite a bit of very syrup too. Similar taste, full of sour cherry, but also acidic and sweet. Not much funky complexity, only a slightest hint of acetic, but a pretty enjoyable fruit beer nevertheless.





16-MAY-2013. BOTTLE 375 ML as Cuvee-Brut. Head: minuscule, poor retention. Colour: ruby, slightly hazy.

Aroma: balanced sour and sweet, lots of cherry, some sharp yeast too. Taste is the same. The finish is sour and sweet. 7-3-7-3-14=3,4
