This classy beer represents the perfect marriage between the fresh accents and slightly acidic flavour of the black cherries. Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a mixed fermentation beer, with every hectolitre containing up to 13 kilos of fruit! Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a perfect blend of Oud Bruin and pale beer aged on cherries. The beer is matured for 18 months, bringing out the very best of its intense flavour.

37,5 cl bottle @ home, BBE 02.09.2020
Aroma is rather nice with earthy notes, some sourish cherries, juicy notes and hints of vinegar. Flavour has fruit juice, sugary notes, some tartness, wood and earthy notes. A nice mixture of sour and sweet elements.

Bouteille 375ml.

Nice smell. Nice smooth drink for sour. Pours clear ruby. Smells like cherry and mash malt. Carbonation high, consistent with style. Thick palate, finsi sweet and sour. Nice. Tap at Blue Monk.

[Bottle on Beer Academy course] Ruby with a white head with a hint of pink. Cherry obvious from the off, although fortunately it’s not too sickly and there’s little almond with it (I’ve never liked almond!). There’s some cough mixture, a little woodiness woodiness, some blackcurrant and some sourness. However, the sourness is not enough to balance the upfront sweetness. A little too swet for me.I’m afraid.

Bottle at the Rose and Thistle, Frimley Green - 05/01/13. Pours a hazed russet brown/red with an off white head that clears to the edge. Nose is tarte cherries, sugars and a little burnt note to it. Taste comprises tarte/sour cherries, a little wood, sugars, burnt notes. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation, fruity finish. Too sweet and sugary for me, not enough tarte and sour.

Pours red-tinged brown with no head.Nose shows sweet cherries, a soft funky notes, light sweet malt and faint confectionery. Very enticing.Quite sweet flavours but with a soft tartness and a prominent funky note. Over-ripe cherries are the main show.No carbonation, with is a big disappointed as the beer seems cloying and feels watery.Very drinkable, would have been great if it was carbonation.

Royaal kriekenaroma met toetsen van hout en amandel. Zuurzoete aanzet, fruitige smaak die eindigt in een volmondigheid
