This classy beer represents the perfect marriage between the fresh accents and slightly acidic flavour of the black cherries. Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a mixed fermentation beer, with every hectolitre containing up to 13 kilos of fruit! Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a perfect blend of Oud Bruin and pale beer aged on cherries. The beer is matured for 18 months, bringing out the very best of its intense flavour.

0.375 corked bottle. This is a clear beautiful deep blood color-red one with a small and slowly sidesticking - fading brown-pink head. It smells really good this one. Sour lemons, tons of sweet cherries, green grass, wood, sweet strong strawberries with a little hint of dishwasher dispensers - that actually feels really integrated and belonging. Impressive. It has a nice little almost fizzing carbonation level at first and a good almost sticky-oily mouthfeel. Tons of cherries here alright! It's woody and a bit sweet also. More wet green grass, soft gentle lemon hints and a light dry finish. Really cherry-infused all the way. Enjoyable. 01.09.2012

On tap at Hay Merchant. Pours a cloudy red with small creamy white head leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is strawberry and cherry. Thin mouthfeel with a strong tart and strawberry with light sour finish. A very impressive sour ale from Liefmans.

Original 5/31/2012 Bottle. Pours a cloudy reddish brown with a small off-white head that dissipates fairly quickly. Aroma is mainly cherries, with some yeast, medium sweetness and tartness. Taste is cherries sweet and sour. Clean crisp finish. Full bodied on the palate. Revised 11/8/2012. Tap. Seemed lighter bodied than in bottle, and had much better head retention and lacing.

Otroligt god. Frisk smak av riktiga körsbär. Välbalanserat spontantjäst som får tungan att le.

This review is of two 37.5 cl bottles given to me during a trip to the blending house in Oudenaarde (Nov 2010). The bottles had a life up to Sept 2020, I however opened the corks late April 2011. Poured into a selection of Belgian beer glasses: the look is good, proper cherry red body, with no real head after twenty seconds. The smell and taste is all about semi-sour cherries, but this isn’t a cherry-aide, the alcohol is only just below the surface and can be found with every sip. I am not a fan of really sour beers, or the polar opposite, those extremely sweet Belgian Krieks on the market, this however sits nicely inbetween and I liked it, as did the others in the tasting.

Bottle from Trafalgar Wines, Brighton. It pours cloudy deep red/near purple, with a large off-white head. The nose is jam, sweet cherry, artificial fruit, hint of tanginess and light vinegar The taste is juicy cherry, hint of sourness, wood, red grape, jam, lime, honey and some vinegar, with a sweet-sour finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Not bad, but I would have preferred more sourness.
