Soft malts layered over sticky hops. Our hoppy, new-school, American Amber ale. Pairs well with involuntary memories.

Simcoe hops sing loud and proud above a complex German malt bill, both experienced through a delightful burnt orange hue and a 5.6% abv.

Tap at Bissell Brothers Brewing Company, Portland. Originally rated 20160220. Colour is cloudy murky almost mud like with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Chocolate, caramel, grain, hops and malts. Very strange looking beer but I like it. Drinkability very good.

Can from the brewery. It pours crazy murky brown with gigantic off-white head. The nose is juicy, beer - sweet, toffee, orange sherbet, stewed peach, icing sugar, charry pine and resin. The taste is bitter, woody, earthy, pine, orange peel, peach, pepper, resin and varnish with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. A bit dirty, but I sort of like it...

Refrigerated 16 oz. aluminum can fro AirForceHops poured into a nonic. Hazy deep amber with medium beige head. Aroma is herbal hops, medium body, medium carbonation, and some medium-bubble lacing. Taste is caramel malt, fresh herbal hops, some pine hops, and bitter finish. Nice amber ale.

16 oz. can purchased at Tully’s in Wells, ME. Serious deep red color/ honestly damn near brown. Aroma very deep earthy hops sitting on top caramel.

The flavor is has the expected toasted grain and caramel malt with a high hop profile. The hops are earthy and herbal with maybe a hint of pine. The texture is gritty and dry. Anybody who knows me understand I feel like Amber ales are very ordinary and plain. Bissell Bros. manages to make a highly drinkable Amber with this hop profile. This is about top tier in the style for my palate.

Northeast Bucket List Trip Beer #88. Keg at the brewery. Pours a hazy red amber with a large frothy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of caramel malt, floral and tropical hops. The taste is tropical, pine, citrus hops, caramel malt. Medium bodied, mild lingering bitterness.
