Sampled at Quintessence, apparently the 'flat lambic' version of the famed Lou Pépé Framboise. Beautifully deep, hazy fuchsia-tinged ruby red, some loose pinkish bubbles of air immediately after pouring but almost instantly gone. Intense raspberry in the nose, raspberry vinegar as well as actual raspberries, lemon rind, wet wood, tomato peel, sweat, yoghurt. A truckload of real, big raspberry juice in the mouth, blending with the sourness of the lambic, very refreshing and packed with fruit flavour; the sourness is drying, but not too puckering, a whole lot softer than what I remember from the bottled version, though admittedly that was a long time ago. No carb, slick and supple body, tannic wet wood and raspberry seed notes in the finish. Clearly young, but filled to the brim with fruit, absolute generous - and deliciously elegant.

The basic, traditional raspberry lambic from Cantillon, which is, among other things, transformed into Lou Pépé Framboise when bottled and refermented but is also available from tap at Moeder Lambic; tasted at Moeder Lambic Fontainas during Zwanze Day as "Framboise Cuvée Moeder". Medium thick and moussy, surprisingly stable, pale off-pinkish head - not sure how this is done, since we are ultimately talking about unblended draft lambic here... Hazy fuchsia robe with warm ruby red hue. Aroma of indeed a ton of fresh red raspberries, very overwhelming in its actual fruit richness, with subtler side notes of sweaty old T-shirt and old socks, plum peel, ketchup, fermenting hay, a lot of sweet sherry-like notes, leather. Very fruity onset as expected, estery but also buried under a truckload of real, rich, genuine red raspberry flavour, under which a tart lactic, yoghurt-like sourness develops; the basic beer is mildly lambic-funky but in any case very dry, yet kept juicy by this very generous dosis of raspberries. Plum and grape peel wryness lingers, carbonation is soft but I am wondering how a draught, unblended lambic gets any at all. Sourdough- and white bread-like soil carries the lambic esters, the real fruit and the sourness onwards to a very quenching finish, juicy and dry at the same time, with a tart, tangy yoghurty sourness lingering. Very rich and generous, this is about exactly what I was expecting from a Cantillon raspberry lambic, but I am left wondering where this gets its head and fizz - I assume this is somehow done on purpose by Moeder Lambic, in order to make it align with modern consumer preferences, but for me, this would not have been necessary at all and actually distracts a bit from the rich tapestry of lambic-estery and fruit flavours.

Jug at Quintessence 2018. ok, sure whatever a new entry? This is purely raspberry pureed fruit with lambic, of course this is gonna have insane amounts of good fruit profile. Pour le reste voir mon rating the LPF en stade d'évolution.

Clear ruby red colour, pinkish head. Aroma of fresh raspberry, raspberry jam, light funky lambic. Fruity raspberry flavour, sour fruity notes, light funk. Finish loads of raspberry. Very, very fruity, more so than the other Cantillon Raspberry lambics I've tasted so far. Nice!

Pink to ruby colour, only a slight head. Aroma of raspberry, very fruity, lactic acid, yoghurt, citrus, Cantillon lambic. Tart flavour, wood, raspberry, raspberry pips, lactic and fruit acids. Quite dry. Tart finish, fruity raspberry. Nice! Not as sheer brilliant as the kriekenlambic by Cantillon imho, but very nice indeed.
(from draught. @ Antwaerps Bierhuiske. Thanks, Dylan!)

(Jug pour @ Quintessence 2018, Cantillon, May 1/18) Pours hazy pink-red without any real head. Notes of heavy fresh meets jammy raspberry, tart berry juice, lightly citrusy lactic acid, light funk, hay, touches of raspberry seed and wood, moderately sour and moderately sweet overall with very low bitterness. Oily flat mouthfeel. Super juicy as you would expect, not necessarily loads of complexity but tons of fruit. Somewhat similar to the framboise lambic at Moeder but not quite as 'lambic-heavy' in character if you will. Very nice and fun to try.

(On cask at Moeder Lambic Fontainas, July 24 2015) Pours deep clear pink with a medium pink lingering cask head. Aroma is dominated by tart fresh raspberries. In support there is citrus zest, sweaty horseblanket type funk, some wood. On the palate, tart raspberry juice, lactic notes, woody, dried grass, slightly medicinal herbs. Finish has raspberry flesh, some seeds, quite woody, a bit of dried grassy sort of hops. Medium palate with creamy cask carb. The raspberry fruit is so bright and in your face here, lovely but maybe blows out some complexity and lambic character. Still a gorgeous beer. Better than the bottled Lou Pepe? Maybe the best one is the one you’re currently drinking...

Sampled at Quintessence 2018. Semi-hazy pink pour, flat, with no head. Tons of tart, fermented raspberries, fresh raspberries, light funk, light citrus. Draught @ Moeder Lambic. Deep red color with nice pinkish head. Intensely sweet fruity framboise aroma, funky. Taste is more sour, great fruit, funk, good tongue-twisting finish. I love it! 9-4-9-4-19 Quintessence 2018, "Lou Pepe fresh non-refermented"I don't think this should be a new entry - if the beer is unrefermented it's probably just Frambozenlambik. Draught (served from a jar), fresh and unrefermented at Quintessence 2018. Ruby color with white head. Aroma is super raspberry forward, jam, leathery, tannic. Oily mouthfeel, almost flat. Just god juice. 9-5-9-4-17
