Did the flavors of sugar and bitter sweet almonds and coffee in Imperial Biscotti Break also make you sentimental? Now we topped it off with insane amounts of doughnuts. This all time American favorite is making it’s way back into the spotlight and we at Evil Twin Brewing are not letting a tasty trend pass us by without taking it to the next level. Drink it with great gusto - Forza Doughnuts.

650ml bottle. Jet black oily pour with small, creamy, fading, tan head. Toasty, biscuity, chocolately, minimally ashy, dark malty aroma, notes of cocoa, dark chocolate, couverture, coffee liqueur. Taste is sweet-ish, dark malty, notes of coffee liqueur, tiramisu, biscuit, cocoa, minimally alcoholic finish; full but light body, smooth and soft palate.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color porter with a medium size dark brown foamy head with light retention with some very light lacing notes. Aroma of residual sugar notes is quite dominant with some light boozy notes. Taste is a mix of sweet black chocolates notes, with some sweet adjunct and a boozy finale. Body is full with oily texture and light carbonation. Too sweet with some adjunct that are more or less interesting.

(650ml bottle from boxbeers.dk) Pours black with a small and short-lived dark brown head that fades to nothing without lace. Aroma of molasses-heavy dark malt, coffee, bakers chocolate, chocolate pastry, glazing sugar, marzipan, moderately roasty, quite sweet overall, rather intense. Flavour is sweet but not as intense as I would have expected, with chocolate pastry/dough, muscovado, molasses, marzipan, vanilla extract, liqueur, light to moderate coffee, dark fruit, prunes, raisins, light roast. Finish is lingering doughnut/almond/extract confectionary notes and a little coffee, hint of alcohol. Kind of light and thin for style with almost no carbonation. Decent pastry-type stout, pretty sweet though, and without the heft to totally sustain its intentions. Bottle's a year or so old, that might be part of it.

650ml bottle from the Park Royal LRS (thx, Jamey!). Pours a very dark brown with the same head. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, fudge. Similar taste with moderate sweetness. Chocolatey and bready aftertaste. Very nice.

On tap at Muted Horn, Berlin. Comes with an nearly black, opaque color and a small tan head. Nice nose of vanilla, milk chocolate, toffee and some dried fruits. Taste is like a liquid donut: milk chocolate with nuts, sweet molasse, dried fruits. Full bodied.
