Bottle from Wittich. Pours brown with a beige head. Aroma is funky, barrel, metallic, rust, roses, chocolate, steel pan. Body is heavy and strongly sour, quite sweet, lots of roasted malts, fizzy carbonation, acidic and burnt all at the same time, still chocolate and fig and dried dark fruit. A potpourri of impressions. Lingering sweet and sour palate. Quite a heavy one, not for the fainthearted. Unfortunately there is no convergence, feels a bit all over the place. Still, a good beer.

330ml bottle from Vanuxeem. Pours dark, almost black, large pale tan head. Aroma has some dark malt, some berry hints. Taste presents an interesting, moderately rich blend encompassing dark malt, liquorice, dark berries, spice with a tart sour edge. Very interesting, strong, flavoursome with additional sweet, dark notes emerging.
