Bottle picked up at Dranken Geers, Oostakker, nr Gent, consumed at home Sunday 7th December 2014. Pours very dark brown with light beige creamy head. Really thrusty hoppy beer a little gritty burst of bitter cocoa punches through mmhh...lovely but with a smooth fruity hoppiness. Chocolate and light coffee linger on nose. Lovely beer. [9/28/14] Draught sample at Borefts After Festival 2014 in Rotterdam. Deep amber-brown with a beige head. Nice hoppy aroma with tropical fruits and some roast. Bitter flavor with roast and fruity hops. Medium-bodied, well-carbonated. Nice.

Tap at the Borefts After Festival 2014. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin off white head and a little lace. The aroma is woody resin hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a woody light metallic bitter resin hop palate. Moderate to light bodied with average carbonation. A black IPA? I don’t think so.

Huge dark cream head, very stable over deep brown beer with a reddish hue; shards of lace. Bit of coffee, lots of fusels and hops. Quite some caramel(syrup). Faint backthroat sweetness. Long bitterish-burnt finish and aftertaste, where the stoutsourishness appears. Feels quite carbonated. Well bodied, quite to very slick. An attempt at black IPA, turns out another stout. All said.

Bottle from Drinkmonger. Murky ruby/brown body with a huge, sturdy tan head. Excellent lacing. Aroma of sugared plum, caramel and grapefruit. Flavour of toast, sweet lime and blood orange. Very bitter and dry. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. Not as rich and chocolatey as some, but an excellent Black IPA - looks and tastes like a blend between a Black IPA and an IPA.

Hoppy beer with a body of licorice and some slight notes of coffee. Body is bit too sweet, but the hops are fruity and bitter.
