An Imperial Stout put it in the hands of six brewers, each with a unique plan for the end product. That’s Six Ways! Magnus’ way is a double fermented fantasy with a coffee end of reality. Dessert’s served!

When Magnus got to play around with the Six Ways Imperial Stout he whipped out a variety that had been lying in the back of his head for a while. He wanted to make a beer that was strong, sweet and dense, not to mention pitch black, and which had crazy amounts of coffee in it. A beer to be shared among friends and enjoyed in small sips. It took some tweaking, especially to get the second fermentation with Belgian yeast right, but in the end we got there!

Sample at SBWF 2016. Black with a small tan head. A lot of coffee both in the aroma and the taste. Also dark chocolate and some light licorice. Warming alcohol in the finish. Not a bad one but the mouthfeel was on the "thin" side.

Keg at Omnipollos Hatt, Stockholm. Black, coarse beige head. Huge coffee aroma. Mid sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Notes of licorice, but the rich coffee flavour takes over completely. Warming peppery finish. I like what the extra fermentation did to the the beer. I like the coffee, but would prefer less of it to allow some other flavour components to shine through.
