2014 bottle. Pours deep brown into a tulip. Mocha head with excellent retention slowly recedes leaving trailing sheets. Dark chocolate covered cherry aromas. Medium bodied with sour cherry, chocolate and earthy molasses front to back. Finish starts a tangy cherry finish and becomes a little oxidized over time.

Pour at Dark Fields of Winter. Pours murky brown. Aroma of sour dark cherries and bready malts. Flavour is sour, full of cherry pits and blackberries. Good beer, but the flavour felt a bit muted.

Love! 7/8 Brune Bier but the 1/8 lambic really shines through the strongest. Delightful.

Only 1/8 lambic but it cuts through the 7/8 Braun. Good stuff! This has been on my radar for years but I've never tried it, although I have a bottle at home.

Bottle, gift from Pam. Hazy brown body with a thin beige head. Good lacing. Aroma of leather, prunes and red grape. Flavour of rust, plum and lemon. Thin body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. An interesting, rustic beer.

2015-2016 vintage, curious to see the difference to the older one that was twice bottled due to oversaturation. Milder nose, flavor is just a hint milder though, a bit more roast note and less sour flavor. I like this seven percent version more. Wow nice!
