We pronounce it “sta-leep-ah”; you pronounce it how you like. STLIPA, which is the acronym for St. Louis India Pale Ale, is actually a DIPA (Double or Imperial IPA, double the stats of a traditional IPA). It showcases prominent grapefruit, pine, and floral hop aroma and a sufficient malt backbone to balance the hop bitterness. We hope it’s one you'll include in your set of favorite DIPA’s from one of the best beer cities in the world St. Louis.

Sample at Urban Chestnut Flight Bar. Clear ruddy orange color with a medium ivory white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lace. Aroma of piney hops, fruit and malt. Medium body with flavors of resiny hops, citrus and grainy malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a piney hop aftertaste. Above average overall.

Orange color. The hops are light and so os the malt. There is not much here.

On tap in goblet at the source. Appearance is clear light amber with finger-width white foamy head with decent retention. Aroma is cracker malts, lighter tropical fruit and citrus. Taste is surprisingly cracker malt forward with milder tropical fruit and citrus. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with soft-to-average carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, not sure how intentional it was to have this so malty--it does trend toward more standard Germanic style offerings from the brewer and would be a good intro to DIPA for those who enjoy blondes, lagers, marzens, etc. but is not as big and bold with hops as your average DIPA.

It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/sticky texture, lively carbonation. Not many distinct tastes. Some pine. Some resin. Mostly sweet malts.
