Montmorency vs. Balaton is our barrel-aged wild ale re-fermented with Montmorency and Balaton cherries. These distinct cherry varieties that are sourced from our friends at King Orchards in Michigan lend their own unique flavor to the final beer. We create a blend of mature barrel-aged beer, add the cherries at a very high ratio (5lb. per gallon), then let the fruit re-ferment to total dryness. To us, we feel "MvB" has a perfect blend of bursting pie cherry flavor and aroma, dry drinkability, and elegant tartness.

[ As Jester King Montmorency vs. Balaton ].Clear dark red colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy cherry, almond, tart, sour. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and light acidic with a long duration, cherry, artificial, tart, cherry stone, almonds. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [5/10/17] Bottle at Himmeriget in Copenhagen. Bottled June 2016. Lovely clear red color. Great aroma full of cherries, cherry pits, juicy, funk, oak, marzipan, cinnamon, sour, lemony, somewhat acidic, medium-bodied, rounded. Really great.

From bottle at Himmeriget, Copenhagen. Light hazy red color with off white to pink head. Yeasty and malty aroma, light funky, sweet and tart fruity - cherries, wood. Sweet and acidic fruity taste like aroma. Light to medium oily body with soft carbonation.
