From tap at a coffee bar in Ericeira. Dried fruits upfront with caramel malt, raisins, notes of toffee. Relatively bitter for a Dubbel, moderate to medium sweet. Good one, more 'Craft Dubbel' than Belgian Dubbel.

Linnas, nats hapukas, veits bretine, õrn atsetoon, suhkrune. Joodav, aga mitte ilmselt selles olekus nagu peaks.

Aged sample Old ivory head, dwindling over faintly veiled chestnut beer. Parsley, cypress, other conifers, some dark malts. Sweet, liquorice with a faint bitterish-woody finish. Low carbonation, slick; falls dead but for the maltsugars. Oh well. Not very Belgian. Txs to Stef!

Bottle, courtesy of KnutAlbert. It pours a unclear dark orange brown body under a dense finger thick beige head. The aroma has lots of prunes and other dark dried fruits. Some malty caramel notes and brown sugar too. It’s full bodied, semi sweet and nicely carbonated with some bitterness in the back. Dried fruits, caramel and brown sugar in the flavor. Some faint notes of acetone. Long finish dominated by dark dried fruits. Well, not really bad this one, but it’s far from the best in its style. 160612
