Keg@brewpub Dark amber-copper color, good creamy beige head. Herbal hoppy, caramelly aroma. Quite light bodied for this ABV. Berryish (strawberry, lingonberry), slightly caramelly. Has something what is probably "house flavor" for Apollo (and typical for large mainstream brewpubs)

Draught@Apollo, Copenhagen. This one came out as a treat, as they had just found a semifull keg of beer in the back, so this wasn’t on the whiteboard, it was one of the workers who just came and asked if I have tasted this one, as they have some left in a keg in the back. During this CPH BF 2013 visit here I got some of the best customer service I’ve ever gotten at Apollo. So the Scottish strong ale (I was told 6.2 %) was a hazy pale ambery brown colour with a mediumsized white creamy head. Aroma was leathery, quite sweet malts with some nutty and floral notes. Flavour was rather similar with some mild yeasty notes, which actually did suite in quite well.

Draft sampled at the brewpub. Pours hazy brown with a cream colored head. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel, light cocoa and fruit. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter. A strange aftertaste that I can’t place spoils it. Medium bodied with light carbonation.

On tap. Pours an almost clear warm amber with a creamy off-white head. Tart aroma, notes of caramel as well. Medium-bodied, sweet caramel and then again a light berry-like tartness. No real bitterness but some warming late alcohol. Unclean. 070113
