Precious ale with orange-golden hues and a creamy head of foam sitting on top of it. A harmonious blend of lychee, elderberry, tangerine and floral hop notes tantalises your nose. Surprisingly pronounced caramel taste dominated by hoppy tones. Multi-faceted, strongly hopped beer with lingering aftertaste.

Corked bottle
Cloudy amber color with generous creamy head. At first, there is a nice citrusy aroma, yuzu; later some earthy touch too. Good body strength, yet the mouthfeel is lean; strong caramel flavor with light toffee; it has moderate sweetness, quite strong bitterness; the hops are quite good but a bit sturdy, there is some orange fruitiness and soft resins. A bit salty in the end.
Good but somehow dirty.

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Hazy golden with some sediment and small head. Some grapefruit up front. Sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Caramelly and buttery with notes of cellar and graefruit. Warming finish with medium bitterness. Typical macro-IPA, even if Stiegl is one of the more decent macrobrewers.

Tapped (as Stiegl Jahrgangsbier 2012 Double IPA, Stammwürze 20’ Plato, Alkohol 9,2%):Cloudy, light amber coloured, loose to creamy off-white head, herbal-grainy and grapefruity nose, some seet toasted malt shows up; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, full bodied and pretty creamy; some sweetness detectable in the otherwise dry grapefruity finish. Really good…
