This beer, inspired by the flavors of Southeast Asian cuisine, is a twist on the classic Belgian witbier style. Instead of the traditional coriander and orange peel spicing regimen, we add fresh lemongrass, ginger root, and a dash of Sorachi Ace hops. The result is a wonderfully refreshing ale with notes of lemon candy, citrus fruit, and a slight spiciness from the ginger. Best served at 45˚F in a tulip or wine glass.

355ml can. Dark orange with a thin white head. Wheat, lemon and yeasty aroma. Some unrecognizable spice as well. Flavor has wheat, ginger, citrusy notes. Refreshing, but quite boring.

6/9/9/10/10/9

Can: Curacao nose. Shimmering amber, thin head. Lemony, but weak. Thin mouthfeel. Rather milquetoast.

Can 35,5 cl. Pours a hazy golden with a white head. Lovely spicy Sorachi Ace aroma - paired with a little coriander. Light body, sweet and tart fruit with a little yeast. No bitterness. But a lovely summer quencher. 271212

Location: 12 oz can from Charleston Beer Exchange, 12/8/12

Aroma: The nose has some wheat, some ginger, other spices, tropical fruity notes, and lemongrass
Appearance: It pours a completely clouded golden color with a bright white head and drippy lace
Flavor: The taste is a little sweet, with some nice spice, hop bitterness, and a lemongrass finish
Palate: The body is medium, it has a smooth feel, some tingle, spice, and a nice, dry finish
Overall Impression:  This one seemed to be pretty well made. I really enjoyed trying it. From what I have found, these couple of Westbrook beers show me that they make some of the best local offering in the Charleston beer scene.

33cl can from Geers.

Small, fast goen whitish head over fully hazy orange-ochre beer. Citrussy-hoppy aroma, if totally different from IPA; some rosewater, ginger and other sweetish-hot spices; very aromatic. Again sweet-spicy. Ginger is rather oppressive, to the detriment of the rest, which consists mainly of rosewater - touch of lemongrass as well. Maybe some liquorice and finishing on rosepetals. Spritzy, light body. Original twist on classical witbier - but it still is not going to be my style.
