This beer, inspired by the flavors of Southeast Asian cuisine, is a twist on the classic Belgian witbier style. Instead of the traditional coriander and orange peel spicing regimen, we add fresh lemongrass, ginger root, and a dash of Sorachi Ace hops. The result is a wonderfully refreshing ale with notes of lemon candy, citrus fruit, and a slight spiciness from the ginger. Best served at 45˚F in a tulip or wine glass.

0.355l can from Top Hops. Yeah, it's quite hazy and almost a bit murky in the glass this. A nice medium sized white lasting head on top of the hazy deep orange/yellow body. Smells quite spicy and herbal. Lots and lots of wheat and dry hefe yeast with cardboard, of dried blood orange and the zest from the orange, some sweet caramel and a grassy herbal thing. Smells quite much, and in kinda liking it. Not typical wit at all, but still it bear some resemblance. Yeah, i get lots of lemongrass in the wheat flavor. That's what that herbal thing is! Quite elegantly oily and really gliding in the mouth with a average carbonation level. Peppery as well, some sharp citrus and zesty bitterness also present in the taste. Grassy herbal finish and aftertaste. A fun thing to try, but I could not drink lots and lots of this. 03.07.2013

Can from the Bottle Shop Canterbury. Drunk on the train to Ashford It’s a veryspicy wit. Some ccoriander I think. Not unpleasant but very spicy for the style. A little soapy Belgian wit comes through but mostly it’s the spices. Nice enough. Not a wit though it’s a spice herb vegetable

Hazy orange yellow colour, white head. Spicy aroma, lemon, ginger, light cloves and wheat. Bread notes, some baked banana at the end of the nose. Spicy flavour, light sweet, spicy ginger, lemongrass, somewhat soapy. Spicy finish, ginger, ginger ale, light lingering soap. Not bad, refreshing and nice in itself, but was hoping for a bit more.

Can: Hazy yellow-gold with a huge, frothy white head. Yeast, wheat, spice aroma. Taste is slightly bitter yeast under ginger, wheat, white pepper and salt. Very hoppy towards the finish... Has that alcohol, metal sorachi bitter. Good.

12 oz can purchased at Growler’s Craft Beer & Ales in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. 6/21/13 stamped on the bottom of the can. The pour is a murky gold yellow with a thick white head. The aroma is spice yeast and wheat. The taste is the nose, grain of the wheat, paired with the lemongrass, ginger and spiced yeast and hops. The palate is medium bodied, unfiltered mouthfeel, and the spice lingering in the finish. Overall fresh and well made though a touch heavy on the spice for my tastes.
